The stages of the 15-day tour

Day 1 — Arrival in Antananarivo
Aéroport → Appartement Valiha
15 min environ
Upon your arrival at Ivato International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our team and transferred to your accommodation, the Valiha Apartment located not far from the airport. You will be staying on a half-board basis in a calm and pleasant setting. This first day will allow you to rest after the flight and gently soak up the Malagasy atmosphere. Depending on your arrival time, you may take a short walk around Lake Ivato or explore the local market.

Day 2 — Antananarivo ➜ Antsirabe
RN7, winding road through the Highlands
170 km – approx 5 à 6h drive
After breakfast, departure around 8:00 am towards Antsirabe via National Road 7, one of the most picturesque in the country. You will cross the Central Highlands, dotted with rice paddies, red-brick villages, and rolling landscapes. En route, a stop is planned at Behenjy for a tasting of artisanal foie gras, a renowned local speciality, or at Ambatolampy to visit an artisanal foundry making pots from recycled aluminium, a typically Malagasy craft. Lunch is at your leisure in a small local restaurant before hitting the road again towards Antsirabe, a charming spa town founded by Norwegian settlers. In the late afternoon, check-in at the Hôtel des Thermes for dinner and the night, on a half-board basis. If time permits, you can take a short pousse-pousse (rickshaw) ride around the town or visit a workshop specialising in miniatures and semi-precious stones.

Day 3 — Antsirabe ➜ Morondava
480 km – approx. 8 to 9 hours drive
RN34, beautiful views over the Highlands and the Tsiribihina plain
After breakfast, early morning departure for Morondava, on the west coast. The journey of approximately eight to nine hours first crosses the mountainous landscapes of the Highlands before descending towards the great plain of the Tsiribihina. A lunch stop is planned in Miandrivazo, a quiet little town by the river. In the afternoon, continue the journey to Morondava, the main seaside resort on the west coast. Upon arrival, check-in at the Hôtel Cheval de Mer for dinner and the night, on a half-board basis.

Day 4 — Morondava ➜ Kirindy
50 km – approx. 1h30 (dirt track)
The morning is free to discover Morondava at your own pace. You can stroll on the beach, visit the market, or watch the lively activity of the fishing port. Lunch is taken in a local restaurant before leaving the city to reach the Kirindy Reserve, located about fifty kilometres away. En route, a stop at the iconic Avenue of the Baobabs, one of Madagascar's most beautiful sites, which you will discover at sunset in an unforgettable golden light, as well as the "Baobabs in Love", two intertwined trees symbolising eternal love. At the end of the day, arrive at the Relais de Kirindy for dinner and the night on a half-board basis. Before or after the meal, there is the possibility of a guided night walk in the dry forest to observe nocturnal lemurs, the famous fossa (Madagascar's endemic predator), chameleons, and other species typical of this region.

Day 5 — Kirindy ➜ Bekopaka (Tsingy entrance)
200 km – sandy track + ferry crossings at Belo-sur-Tsiribihina
8 to 9 hours with ferries
After breakfast, early departure for Bekopaka, the gateway to the Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park. The journey is long, approximately 8 to 9 hours, alternating between sandy tracks and river crossings on traditional ferries. A lunch break is planned at Belo-sur-Tsiribihina before continuing the road to Bekopaka. Arrival is in the late afternoon, followed by installation at the Hôtel Le Grand Tsingy de Bemaraha for dinner and the night on a half-board basis. This stage marks the beginning of the great adventure in the Tsingy region, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 6 — Grand Tsingy (full day)
This entire day is dedicated to exploring the Grand Tsingy, a unique geological masterpiece. You will leave early in the morning for a hike led by a certified guide, through dry forests, limestone cathedrals, and suspension bridges offering dizzying panoramas. The route, lasting three to six hours depending on the chosen circuit, alternates between passages through fissures, light climbs, and spectacular viewpoints. Lunch will be a picnic in the heart of the park. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon for dinner and the night. Good physical condition and walking shoes are recommended for this exceptional adventure day.

Day 7 — Petit Tsingy + Manambolo
The morning is dedicated to discovering the Petit Tsingy, an impressive limestone formation eroded by time. Accompanied by a park guide, you will walk a circuit of two to three hours through accessible canyons and viewpoints offering a superb view of the Manambolo River. After a local lunch, a relaxing afternoon or the possibility of a ride in a traditional dugout canoe on the Manambolo River, in the heart of peaceful nature. You may observe birds, sometimes crocodiles, and visit sacred caves as well as ancient Vazimba tombs, witnesses to an ancestral culture. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hôtel Le Grand Tsingy de Bemaraha, still on a half-board basis.

Day 8 — Bekopaka ➜ Morondava
approx. 9 hours drive (track + ferries)
After breakfast, early morning departure to take the track back towards Morondava. The identical journey includes crossing the river at Belo-sur-Tsiribihina, where you will have lunch in a small local restaurant. Late afternoon arrival in Morondava and check-in at the Hôtel Cheval de Mer. Dinner and overnight stay on site on a half-board basis. Those who wish may stop again at the Avenue of the Baobabs to admire this magical site one last time in the setting sun's light.

Day 9 — Morondava ➜ Antsirabe

approx. 8 to 9 hours
Early morning departure after breakfast to head back up to Antsirabe via the same road as the outbound trip. The lunch break will be in Miandrivazo before continuing the road through the verdant landscapes of the Highlands. Late afternoon arrival in Antsirabe, check-in at the Hôtel des Thermes, dinner and overnight stay on a half-board basis. This stage marks a gradual return to the freshness and serenity of the high plateaux after several days of adventure in the West.

Day 10 — Antsirabe ➜ Antananarivo

approx. 5 to 6 hours drive
After breakfast, departure for Antananarivo with a lunch stop in Ambatolampy. Upon arrival in the capital, depending on your preferences, you can visit the Queen's Palace for an immersion into the history of the Merina monarchy or devote your afternoon to souvenir shopping on the "Route de la Digue", famous for its wood, raffia, stone, and silk crafts. You will then return to the Valiha Apartment in Ivato to freshen up before your transfer to the airport.

Day 11 — Transfer to the airport
After breakfast, the driver will pick you up at the apartment and transfer you to the airport according to your flight schedule. End of services.
